ABOUT ME
My Journey
My journey as an Advanced Clinical Massage Therapist began after experiencing first-hand the beneficial effects of massage which helped ease an increasingly painful condition and highlighted other areas contributing to the problem.
Since qualifying with the highly respected Jing Institute of Advanced Massage Training I’ve gained a wealth of experience and I’m continually developing new skills which allow me to support my clients with empathy and knowledge.
My particular interests are anatomy and movement, I find the complexity of the human body fascinating. I’m constantly amazed by the anatomical connections in the body; soft tissue, bony structures, blood vessels, the role of the nervous system and how these layers are linked. How tightness in one part of the body can affect another area and how historic movement habits inform where we experience restrictions and pain.
I’ve practised Hatha (Scaravelli) Yoga for many years and more recently elements of Feldenkrais (awareness through movement). I believe this experience brings an extra quality and knowledge to my massages and online sessions.
I’ve volunteered at a number of events including the Brighton Half Marathon, Royal Sussex County Hospital Wellbeing Day and as a Course Supporter at Jing Institute.
I’m a member of the CNHC (Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council), the CThA (Complementary Therapists Association) and have full cover with Holistic Insurance Services.
“Paula is a welcoming, bright, sunny, no-nonsense therapist. She listens carefully, answers your questions and shows interest. She is practical and clearly knows her stuff and enjoys her treatments during which I feel that her focus is totally on me with her knowledgeable massage executed in an empathetic manner.”
